Mancin: A Record-Breaking Rebirth Mancin: Renacimiento a Ritmo Récord

ARIANO NEL POLESINE – Two years after the devastating fire that, during the night between January 24 and 25, 2023, reduced much of its facility to ashes, Mancin Nadia Srl has come back to life with a brand-new, 6,000-square-meter, technologically advanced production plant. The company from Polesine achieved this extraordinary feat in just 20 months.

This is the story of the De Agostini family, founders of the company: from Martino, who launched the entrepreneurial challenge in 1983, to his sons Marco and Michele (the current CEO), son-in-law Fabio Negri, and the young third generation, now ready to carry the legacy forward. It’s a story of determination that enabled the company—with just a 15-person task force—to keep going without missing a single day of work after the fire that destroyed 5,000 square meters of warehouses and equipment.

This exceptional result was made possible also thanks to a strong network of solidarity activated among local companies. Businesses like Brt, Fratelli Benazzi, Regnoli, Finpesca, and Rivamar opened their facilities and provided warehouses, machinery, and processing services. It was a race of generosity that highlighted the most authentic side of Veneto’s entrepreneurial spirit.

Today, the company isn’t just back — it has relaunched with a highly innovative and sustainable structure. Solar panels, eco-friendly packaging, and gastronomic research place it among the leading companies in the industry, processing over 15,000 kilograms of fish per day, 12% of which is exported abroad.

“Someone today mentioned the phoenix rising from its ashes — and that’s exactly what this is,” said Luisa Beltrame, mayor of Ariano nel Polesine. “The De Agostini family’s decision to rebuild here is a sign of love for this land. It wasn’t something to be taken for granted, and it brings jobs, economic energy, and renewed trust in the future.”

Similar words came from Massimo Barbin of Confindustria Veneto Est: “The day after the disaster, the solidarity chain had already started. This is the Veneto we know.”
The new headquarters now looks to the future. A model of inspiration that regional labor councillor Valeria Mantovan described as “a message of strength, resilience, and hope for all of Polesine and Veneto.”

Also in attendance were regional councillor Cristiano Corazzari, who emphasized the value of the local industrial fabric, Senator Bartolomeo Amidei, and regional councillor Laura Cestari, who praised the rebirth of the company, calling it “a technological jewel, also in terms of sustainability.”

The blessing ceremony was led by the Bishop of Adria-Rovigo, Monsignor Pierantonio Pavanello, who praised the family’s determination.
“There was a strong desire to start again,” said Marco De Agostini, “especially out of responsibility to those who work with us. Solidarity is often taken for granted, but here it came from across the country — from clients and suppliers alike. We had no choice but to sit down and say: ‘Let’s put 40 years of experience to good use, build a new facility, and restart.’”
